JLB is one of those, yeah, once you find him you'd never want to find the last story you've not red. Fortunately he wrote many novels and after only reading Heaven's Prisoners I'm committed to get them all. Funny how I always thought of Dave like either Gene Hackmann or Alec Baldwin depending on whether he is drunk or sober. Alec is the drunk, with his ripping laughter. Gene is the moonlight neurosis brooder. To me Louisiana is a movie and I never want to visit, the climate would melt me away.

I am a born and raised New York gal, now 72 - married to a Katrina survivor, who I met in October 2005 in NY. We are retired to New Orleans, live in the Pontalba on Jackson Square. Funny, but as I was doing my 'homework' to move here, a colleague told me about James Lee Burke, whom I had, until then (hard to believe) never heard of, or read. I did know of Eudora Welty, Pat Conroy, Harper Lee, William Faulkner, Thomas Wolfe, Robert Penn Warren, and Lafcadio Hearn's stories of New Orleans in the late 1800s'. Well, one page of JLB, and meeting "Dave and Cletus", and I was hooked. BTW I knew I would love New Orleans. I just never knew HOW much...

Probably playing in front of 2,000 Struts fans in a club feels like coming home to family. Gawd, I cannot wait to finally see them live. Preferably in a club or smaller setting before they blow up and are doing arenas for 75,000 Struts fans.

This band is such a huge breath of fresh air that we all needed. We have a nice out of the way lake house in North Carolina should they just need a place to relax and be left alone for a bit.
